Intelligence in Rebased Firm
Intelligence works the same way in Rebased Firm as it does in the standard app — you get Chat and Autopilot with full access to your client’s data. The key difference is that you can switch between client businesses without leaving the firm portal.
Active business
At the top of the Intelligence panel in the firm portal, a business selector lets you choose which client you’re working with. All questions, actions, and data access use that client’s business context.
| Concept | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active business | The client business currently selected for this Intelligence session |
| Switching | Changing the active business starts a new context — the agent works with the new client’s data |
Rule: Intelligence always works with one business at a time. There is no mode that mixes data from multiple clients in a single conversation. This keeps data isolated and ensures the agent has the correct permissions.
What you can do
Everything available in the standard Intelligence panel is available in the firm portal:
| Capability | Chat | Autopilot |
|---|---|---|
| Answer questions about the client’s data | Yes | Yes |
| Summarise reports and balances | Yes | Yes |
| Create invoices, quotes, and bills | No | Yes |
| Send documents by email | No | Yes |
| Reconcile bank transactions | No | Yes |
| Navigate to pages in the app | No | Yes |
Memories, rules, and workflows
Your personal memories, rules, and workflows are available regardless of which client is selected. Shared (business-wide) items load for the active client business.
| Scope | Loaded when |
|---|---|
| Personal | Always — these are yours across all businesses |
| Shared (business) | When the business that owns them is the active business |
This means your personal rules (e.g. “Always use 14-day payment terms”) apply everywhere, while a client’s shared rules only apply when you’re working in their business.
Messages rail
The right side of the firm portal shows the Messages rail with two tabs:
- Portfolio — notifications across all businesses under management
- Client — the standard Messages panel for the active business
When you select a client in the business selector, the Client tab updates to show that business’s notifications. See Messages & Notifications for full details.
Region-aware
Intelligence in the firm portal respects the firm’s region. For Australian firms:
- GST calculations use the correct 10% rate and tax codes
- BAS-related questions reference Australian obligations
- Currency defaults to AUD
- Terminology uses Australian conventions (superannuation, ABN, etc.)
Cross-portfolio queries (future)
A planned future feature will allow questions that span multiple client businesses — for example, “Which clients have overdue BAS?” or “Show reconciliation status across my portfolio.” This is not yet available. Today, all Intelligence queries are scoped to the active business.
