Personal profile & account security
Your personal profile is tied to your Rebased user account, not to a single business. Use it to update your identity details, switch between businesses you belong to, and manage two-factor authentication (2FA) for sign-in.
Opening your profile
- Open the main app sidebar (when you are signed in).
- In the user card at the bottom, choose Profile.
You can return to the app from the Back to Dashboard link at the top of the profile page.
What you can do there
Personal information
- Edit first name, last name, phone, and timezone
- Email is shown for reference and cannot be changed in the app (it comes from your sign-in account)
My businesses
- See every business your account can access and your role in each
- Switch the current business (opens the dashboard for that business)
- Create New Business to start another organisation
Security — two-factor authentication (2FA)
Rebased uses mandatory 2FA with an authenticator app (TOTP) for all accounts.
On Personal profile → Security you can:
- See whether your authenticator is active and when it was enrolled
- See how many recovery codes you have left
- Regenerate recovery codes when needed (you will be asked for a current 6-digit code from your authenticator; old codes stop working after regeneration)
2FA applies to your user account across every business you use. It is not configured under Settings, which is for business options (company details, payments, accounting, billing, integrations).
Forgot your password?
On the sign-in screen choose Forgot password?. Enter your email and Rebased will send a recovery link. Clicking the link takes you to a page where you set a new password, then you are redirected to sign in normally. The link is single-use and expires quickly, so request a new one if you do not use it straight away.
Lost your authenticator and your recovery codes?
If you still have at least one recovery code, sign in with it and immediately regenerate recovery codes on this page. If you have lost both your phone and every recovery code, you have two options — covered in detail on Password & MFA:
- An owner or admin on one of your businesses can reset your MFA instantly from Settings → Team → Your name → Reset MFA. The next time you sign in Rebased will ask you to set up a fresh authenticator app.
- If no-one else can help (for example you are the sole owner of your business), use the “Lost your device and recovery codes?” link on the MFA sign-in screen. Rebased emails you a confirmation link that unlocks the reset after 24 hours — a deliberate cooling-off period so a stolen password alone cannot silently disable MFA.
